Executive Adoption¶
Overview¶
Value realization starts at the top. Executive sponsorship drives platform usage, data quality, and cross-functional alignment. This page outlines how to secure and sustain leadership engagement.
Who this is for¶
- Executive
- Admin
- End User
Prerequisites¶
- Defined business case for ValuePact within your organization.
- Named executive sponsor with allocated time.
- Baseline metrics to compare against after rollout.
Step-by-step instructions¶
1. Secure a named executive sponsor¶
- Identify a C-level or VP-level leader who benefits directly from value reporting.
- Document the sponsor’s responsibilities: attending kickoff, reviewing monthly dashboards, and removing blockers.
- Add the sponsor as an owner on the top-level portfolio.
2. Align metrics to strategic priorities¶
- Map ValuePact initiatives to the organization's top-three strategic goals.
- Limit the initial dashboard to five key metrics.
- Present the metrics in the sponsor’s preferred format (weekly email, Slack digest, or board deck).
3. Run a structured change management program¶
- Create a communication plan with pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases.
- Train champions in each department. Champions answer tier-1 questions and escalate feedback.
- Schedule a 30-day checkpoint to review adoption metrics and address resistance.
4. Celebrate early wins¶
- Identify one initiative that will show value within the first 60 days.
- Publish a short narrative: the problem, the intervention, and the outcome.
- Share the win in all-hands or executive staff meetings.
5. Embed ValuePact into operating rhythm¶
- Add portfolio review to the existing executive meeting cadence.
- Assign a scribe to update initiative status before each meeting.
- Use the Executive Dashboard as the single source of truth for value conversations.
Permissions required¶
| Role | Permission | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Executive | View executive dashboard | Organization |
| Admin | Configure dashboards | Organization |
| User | Update initiative status | Assigned initiatives |
Limits and guardrails¶
- Limit Executive dashboards per tenant: 10.
- Limit Initiatives on a dashboard: 20.
- Limit Digest recipients: 50 per digest.
Troubleshooting¶
Issue: Executive sponsor disengages after launch
Cause: The sponsor does not see personal relevance, or the time commitment was underestimated. Resolution: 1. Reschedule check-ins to 15 minutes. 2. Reframe metrics around the sponsor’s specific OKRs. 3. Delegate operational tasks to a program manager.
Issue: Department heads resist entering data
Cause: They perceive the platform as extra work with no direct benefit. Resolution: 1. Auto-populate fields through integrations. 2. Show how their data feeds upward into resource allocation decisions. 3. Reduce required fields to the minimum viable set.
